To qualify for A Levels at Rusinga, a student must have at least grade C in English Language and Mathematics at IGCSE or its equivalent. In addition, the student must have a minimum of grade C in the subjects they wish to take. Students who wish to join A Level after completing KCSE examinations are usually admitted in the January Term and prepared for AS examinations in November of the same year. They however complete A2 in June of the following year with everyone else. This group usually have to take classes over the Easter Holiday and part of the Long Holiday.  An induction day for those admitted into A Level is held in the last week of August or first week of September.

A Level students have many opportunities to develop profiles beyond academics. These include Community Service, Work Experience Attachments, President’s Award Scheme, The Prefects Body, The School Council, Club Leadership, Team Captainship, Team Coaching etc

Work experience arrangements are made through the Careers’ Counsellor here in school
